Insurance & ESG - What do stakeholders think?

|

Learning: Unstructured

This is the first in a series of 3 webinars in the CII’s Introductory Programme to demystify ESG for professionals in Claims, Broking and Underwriting. We focus on stakeholders (inside and outside Insurance), their views and likely impacts for the sector over the next 18 months. How will ESG change the shape of Corporate Governance – and should you care? What can we learn from how Investors view ESG and its application to Financial Services, to predict likely impacts on how doing Insurance will be affected? Is Civic Society activism a ‘flash in the pan’.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the key challenges stakeholders inside and outside Insurance see for the sector and individual professionals of what, why and how you operate viewed through the ESG lens
  • Build your knowledge on current issues, debates and emerging requirements as seen by key non-Insurance stakeholders for Corporate Governance, Sustainability (Accounting), Decabonisation and Social and Governance factors
  • Develop your own next-step learning and personal action areas on Insurance and non-Insurance stakeholder activities, thinking and insights, building on the foundation understanding gained from the webinar

  • Shân Millie, Founder, Bright Blue Hare
  • Jill Atkins, Chair in Financial Management, University of Sheffield
  • Peter Bosshard, Global Co-Ordinator, Insure Our Future
